The Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association (FNSNA) has named Dr. Johnny B. Hill, Vice President Of Development and Advancement. Dr. Hill comes to FNSNA from North Carolina Central University where he served as Director of Corporate and Foundation Engagement.
The FNSNA was created in 1969 and is based in Washington, D.C., and New York City. The organization’s mission is to advance the nursing profession by providing charitable and educational support, primarily through scholarships and grants that promote student success and workforce development. The FNSNA serves as the charitable arm of the National Student Nurses’ Association and is the financial engine that fuels the professional development and education success of nursing students nationwide.
The Vice President of Development and Advancement serves as the key philanthropic leader for the FNSNA. In his new role, Dr. Hill will oversee all strategy and operations in the Development department. Reporting to the CEO, Dr. Hill will also be responsible for ensuring the ongoing and current fundraising through existing donor channels, development of the effectiveness of the large donor giving and creation of new philanthropy to meet FNSNA growth objectives. This will involve designing and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for developing key and new external alliances by cultivating corporate and foundation grant support.
With a background in theology, Dr. Hill received a Doctor of Philosophy from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary at Northwestern University, Evanston, IL. He also has a Master of Theology and a Master of Divinity from Duke University Divinity School, Durham, NC, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Morehouse College, Atlanta, GA.
