HSP Announces Healthcare Association Practice

A highly esteemed healthcare industry expert with more than 30 years of experience, Kurt Mosley is the new Associations Practice Leader for HealthSearch Partners. In this role he brings his extensive experience and deep understanding of the evolving healthcare system to partner with a variety of healthcare and medical associations representing an array of constituencies including hospitals, health systems, physicians, and others, to help them find leaders who are dedicated to their success and that of their members.

Today’s healthcare executives must be visionary, strategic, and financially savvy,” says Neill Marshall, HealthSearch Partners Chairman. “They must also possess an ability to motivate and engage physicians, staff, and volunteers to achieve a common mission and vision. The same qualities are required for executive leaders of healthcare associations. As the “voice” for their members, executives also must be excellent communicators, strategic coalition builders, and persuasive lobbyists on behalf of their constituents. Healthcare executives that fit this profile are scarce.  To fill this need, HealthSearch Partners founded an executive search practice devoted to identifying and placing healthcare association executives.”

Before joining HealthSearch Partners, Kurt served in various roles with AMN Healthcare, the largest healthcare staffing organization in the United States, most recently as Vice President of Strategic Alliances. His career at AMN and its subsidiary Merritt Hawkins spanned 31 years where he built and nurtured strategic relationships with 25 state hospital associations. He expanded these relationships to include other healthcare organizations including state primary care associations and community health centers, state medical group management associations, state healthcare financial management associations, and state associations of staff physician recruiters. He also was instrumental in developing Merritt Hawkins’ medical staff consulting and med tech practices.

Kurt’s expertise has been acknowledged in consumer and trade publications, including USA Today, U.S. News & World Report, Modern Healthcare, Hospitals & Health Networks, HealthLeaders, Medial Economics, and many others. His commitment to addressing critical healthcare challenges is demonstrated by his involvement with the Council on Physician and Nurse Supply, a group of healthcare experts focused on finding solutions to the shortage of nurses and physicians. A nationally renowned speaker, Kurt is a member of the Executive Speakers Bureau, and he has addressed more than 90 healthcare professional organizations such as the State Hospital Association Executive Forum and the keynote presentation to the American Society of Medical Society Executives. In all, he has reached more than 6,500 industry leaders over the past two years.

Kurt earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from California State University, Fullerton. His career has been diverse, including a career in baseball before transitioning to the healthcare industry.

In addition to his executive search responsibilities, he will continue speaking on behalf of HealthSearch Partners, sharing industry insights and thought leadership on the pressing issues facing healthcare professionals daily.  His three most recent presentation topics include:

  • The Rise of Convenient Care, Retail Clinics, Healthcare Apps and Robots
  • The Problem is Poverty-Why Poverty and Income Inequality are at the Core of America’s High Health Care Spending
