Erlanger Medical Group Names HealthSearch Partners To Lead Search for a Chief Executive Officer
Erlanger Medical Group (EMG), a 550+ physician and advanced practice provider organization based in Chattanooga, TN, has retained HealthSearch Partners to help it find its next Chief Executive Officer. EMG is one of the largest and fastest-growing physician organizations in the region and serves as a critical component of the Erlanger Health System.
With 320 physicians and 230 APPs, EMG includes primary care, medical specialties and surgical specialties serving Erlanger’s six hospitals and 21 other locations with more than 832,000 patient visits in 2025. Over the past decade, EMG has evolved into a highly integrated, multispecialty physician enterprise that support’s Erlanger’s nationally recognized academic medical center, tertiary care programs, and regional referral network. Closely aligned with the University of Tennessee Science Center College of Medicine, EMG plays a vital role in advancing clinical care, physician education, and strategic growth across southeast Tennessee, northwest Georgia, northeast Alabama, and Western North Carolina.
The EMG CEO is responsible for advancing a highly integrated, physician-centered medical group focused on improving patient access, strengthening physician alignment, enhancing operational consistency, and supporting Erlanger’s broader health system strategic priorities. The role will oversee the continued development of infrastructure, governance, physician engagement, access initiatives, growth strategies, and performance management systems designed to position EMG as a leading multispecialty physician group. The CEO will also serve as a key liaison between EMG and Erlanger system leadership. This CEO reports directly to the Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer of Erlanger Health System.
