HealthSearch Partners Leading VP Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Search For University of Kansas Health System
The University of Kansas Health System, based in Kansas City, KS, has retained HealthSearch Partners to lead the search for its next Vice President, Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.
This Vice President is a critical system-level leader for the University of Kansas Health System and is responsible for leading and shaping the overall strategy and leadership of the highly visible Orthopedics & Sports Medicine service line. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Vice President provides strategic leadership for the continued development and optimization of services for patients and clients.
The position works with executive leaders across the health system and in close collaboration with the Chair of Orthopedic Surgery to guide a nationally recognized program that integrates high-level patient care, education and research across the health system and its extensive partnerships with local school districts, KU Athletics and professional sports teams that include the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Current.

The ideal candidate for the Vice President position will have a bachelor’s degree in a field related to Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. A master’s degree (MBA or relevant advanced degree) is preferred. The candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in large Orthopedic service line leadership and demonstrated experience providing strategic service line leadership for Orthopedics within a large, complex organization. Prior experience in academic health care and collegiate or professional sports medicine is strongly preferred.
